Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and The Student's Secretary ("we", "us") for using our website and calendar sync (the "service"). By using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
What the service does
The service reads the D2L (Brightspace) calendar feed link you give us and copies those events, plus any tests and quizzes you add by hand, into a calendar called "D2L" in your Google Calendar. It syncs once a day and when you press Sync now.
Always double-check D2L
The service is a convenience, not your official schedule. D2L and your professors are the source of truth. Syncs can be late, events can be missing or wrong (for example, if a professor doesn't put a test in the D2L calendar, or D2L or Google has an outage), and we can't promise every deadline will show up. You're responsible for your own deadlines, and we aren't responsible for missed or late work.
Your account
- You sign in with your Google account. Keep it secure, since anyone with it can use your account here.
- Only use your own D2L feed link and your own Google account.
- The service is for college students. You must be at least 13, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Try to break, overload, or get around the security of the service.
- Use it to access anyone else's data, or point it at links that aren't your D2L calendar feed.
- Use it for anything illegal, or in a way that breaks your school's rules.
- Copy, resell, or automate the service without our permission.
We may suspend accounts that do these things.
Your data
Your data stays yours. You let us use it only to run the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can disconnect Google or ask us to delete your account at any time.
Price and changes
The service is free during early access. We plan to offer an optional paid Pro plan later. We'll tell you the price before you're ever charged, and you'll have to choose to sign up. We may add, change, or remove features, or stop the service, and we'll try to give notice first.
Other services
The service relies on D2L, Google, and our hosting providers, which have their own terms. We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by TCU, D2L, or Google, and we aren't responsible for their services.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, including missed deadlines, lost grades, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months or $10.
Ending your use
You can stop at any time by disconnecting Google at myaccount.google.com/connections and asking us to delete your account. We may end or suspend your access if you break these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you about significant changes before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA.
